Berks game show winner shares his ‘whirlwind’ experience with 69 News | Berks Regional News

EXETER TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania – “The show is a reboot of the Groucho Marx show from many years ago,” says Erika Lebo.

Lebo has been fielding casting calls since high school. She’s been an extra on shows here and there and done local stuff, but when she was cast on “You Bet Your Life” with Jay Leno, it was a dream come true.

“When I landed in Los Angeles, I got there the day before,” Lebo explains. “I was so nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. The show wasn’t on TV yet, so I didn’t know what the layout would be, what the questions would be. I didn’t know not know something.”

She says the whole experience was a whirlwind. “They were picking and choosing what they wanted you to wear, they would do your hair, they would do your makeup, they would put a microphone on us and then within seconds they were like ‘Okay, here we go,'” says Lebo . .

The show has two strangers who team up and answer questions on a random topic to earn money.

“I was really happy with the first four questions,” says Lebo. “I got to know them pretty quickly, but the 5th, the double or nothing, I had no idea what it was.”

In the end, Erika and her partner won it all, but she says it wasn’t about the money; it was the experience that was thrilling.

“I will absolutely try to do more,” says Lebo. “I’m already sending auditions.”
