The Miami Soccer Team won 41-23 in 2008 in its only previous College Station appearance. It was the second of a Miami-Texas A&M home-and-away that the Hurricanes swept. Texas A&M won the first meeting 70-14 in 1944. Miami won the only other meeting 34-17 in 2008. Both of those games were in Miami.
Saturday night’s game had a lot of implications in front of a national audience. Miami is trying to make a statement in its first flagship Cristobal-era game. Texas A&M is trying to rebound from a surprise loss to Appalachia State last week. Saturday night could also have implications for recruitment.
