Players, teams, format of the 2022 NHL All-Star Game

The NHL All-Star Game features 44 of the National Hockey League’s best players, with 11 players from each of the four divisions: Atlantic Division, Metropolitan Division, Central Division and Pacific Division. Each team has nine skaters and two goalies.

The 2022 All-Star Game format follows the same rules as the previous five years, with a 3-on-3 single-elimination format.

Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs captains the Atlantic Division team, while Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers leads the Pacific Division team. Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers leads the Metropolitan Division and Kyle Connor of the Winnipeg Jets gets the “C” for captain for the Central Division team;
