‘SNL’ roasts Jake Gyllenhaal, Instagram likes in new game show

We all love a lot of posts on Instagram, but maybe we don’t want to admit why.

“Saturday Night Live” debuted a new game show skit on Saturday’s episode titled “Why’d You Like It?” in which the unsuspecting contestants – played by host Jake Gyllenhaal, Chloe Fineman and Chris Redd — were confronted with Instagram posts they sneakily liked and are asked why. Spoiler alert: The answer usually comes down to contestants wanting to connect with the person posting on Instagram.

Gyllenhaal, who last hosted “SNL” in 2007 while promoting “Brokeback Mountain,” plays an unsuccessful contestant who keeps admitting to wanting to have sex with women on Instagram for a while. as his girlfriend (played by Ego Nwodim) watches from the studio audience.

Things only get worse when the game’s host, played by Kenan Thompson, starts asking contestants why they follow certain people on Instagram. No one can really justify why they follow President Joe Biden, for example.

The best “SNL” sketches are the ones that relate.
