Those lucky enough to attend next month’s Tokyo Game Show will be the first to play Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Publisher Koei Tecmo has just unveiled its lineup of titles for the Tokyo Game Show, with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty taking center stage.
Those among the first to get their hands on the upcoming action-RPG will also receive Wo Long merchandise. Those who play the game will receive an original button badge themselves, while players who manage to complete the demo phase of the game will also receive a unique button badge. While those in attendance may be lucky enough to experience the action inspired by Chinese martial arts up close, those of us around the world who won’t be there can appease us with this brand new trailer of gameplay. The dark landscape of this game’s world looks quite exciting. With the action described by Koei Tecmo as a “dark masocore game of the Three Kingdoms”, it looks set to please fans of Eastern lore and challenge, Elden-Ring-like boss fights. The thrilling game is set to launch in early 2023, although there is no specific release window yet.
It’s not all a waiting game for those who won’t make it to the Tokyo Game Show. Earlier this month, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo revealed that a planned demo version of the game was also in the works ahead of its full release. As noted in a tweet from the official Wo Long account, players have been promised a “gameplay trial in the near future”. It could very well be that a playable demo of the brutal yet gorgeous action is heading our way sometime after the Tokyo Game Show. Of course, that’s just speculation at this point, but it would make sense if the developers were willing to offer it up for public testing at an event. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will launch on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. The game will also launch as a day one release on Xbox Game Pass. We’ll be keeping an ear out for any further news on a release date.
